Zuhören.Verstehen.Handeln – Empowerment für Beschäftigte zur Förderung von demokratiebewusstem Agieren

Region(s): Thuringia Active in: Cross-industry Project partner: Bildungswerk der Thüringer Wirtschaft e.V. Außenstelle Jena

Awareness-raising and empowerment offerings on the topics of discrimination and racism in the workplace. A virtual exchange platform is aimed specifically at trainees and invites them to engage in dialog on current social and political issues.

Project target

Raising awareness among employees, trainees and vocational school teachers in Thuringia of the issues of anti-discrimination and racism; spreading awareness of the above issues among broader sections of the population. Prejudices must be countered before they arise and become entrenched – here, everyday workplaces and vocational schools are an important starting point. The project sees itself as a learning project and adapts its activities to new findings.

Target group

Employees and trainees in Thuringian companies, vocational students and teachers at Thuringian vocational schools (all sectors).

Implementation

Workshop offerings and continuing education series (mainly virtual), provision of an exchange platform in virtual space, consultations and referral consultations on the following and other topics:

  • Sensitization of staff members, trainees and vocational school teachers to the issues of discrimination and racism
  • Empowerment of staff members affected by discrimination or racism
  • Familiarization with and training in argumentation options

The project’s individual offerings are accompanied by a broad-based social media campaign.
